Muscle Response Testing
(Kinesiology)
Muscle Response Testing is a diagnostic biofeedback tool that uses the body’s own nervous system to uncover hidden problems
Muscle response testing is also commonly referred to as Applied Kinesiology (AK) or Manual Muscle Testing (MMT). Muscle Response Testing is a diagnostic biofeedback tool that uses the body’s own nervous system to uncover hidden problems such as allergies, food intolerances, sensitivities, heavy metal toxicity, nutrient deficiencies, and other imbalances.
Muscle Response Testing can be used to establish the best therapy to help the body's healing processes or the remedy for the highest good which is particularly useful when many options present as beneficial.

Muscle Response Testing defines a strong muscle as one that functions properly and a weak muscle as one whose normal functioning is inhibited. In Muscle Response Testing terms, weak or strong has nothing to do with physical strength or a person’s ability to exert force. To avoid confusion or misunderstanding, a strong muscle is defined as ‘on’ or ‘locked’ and an unresponsive or weak muscle as ‘off’ or ‘unlocked’.
If the muscle ‘unlocks’ or ‘weakens’ in the presence of a substance, this indicates the body treats the substance as a toxin
For example, if a gluten or dairy intolerance is suspected, the muscle can be tested before and after a small amount of the substance or test vial is placed on or close to the body. If the muscle ‘unlocks’ or ‘weakens’ in the presence of the substance or test vial but remains ‘locked’ or ‘strong’ in its absence, this indicates the body treats the substance as a toxin providing valuable information for the case and subsequent treatment.
Test vials are made using a homeopathic simulator that stimulates the frequency of a wide variety of substances. The specific vibrational signature is simulated and imprinted into another carrier substance and added to a test vial making it possible to test for a wide range of substances. Real food or substances can also be used if appropriate.
Muscle Response Testing is non-invasive and pain free and clients usually find it fascinating, enlightening, and exciting. Muscle testing may be performed during your consultation after I have taken your full case so that I am able to select the appropriate vials for testing.
Muscle response testing is non-invasive and pain free
Muscle Response Testing is carried out preferably in a lying down position although testing can be performed whilst seated in a chair. I usually use the pectoralis major clavicular muscle that originates at the clavicle and inserts at the humerus. If you have a shoulder injury or pain, I can use either the brachioradialis muscle in the forearm or the quadricep muscle in the thigh.
I will ask you to raise your arm towards the ceiling and resist my pressure as a gently ease your arm away from the body. A muscle that can comfortably match my pressure is usually a reliable indicator however I will run some other tests on the muscle to ensure its response is consistent before we start the testing.
Once I have established an accurate indicator muscle, I will use that muscle to test various substances depending on your case. The results of the muscle test will be discussed in the context of your case and taken into consideration when creating your programme.
